Review and release of new Spielberger Album

November | 2011

Spielberger is proud to announce our second release titled “Chrissie’s Last Swim” This is our second release since April and we’re already working on our third release hopefully due out sometime early next year.  If you really want to pay for it, you can find it on iTunes, Amazon, or anywhere you usually purchase music digitally.  As always though, our Facebook fans get it for free.

The original cover is only available for free through our Facebook page.  iTunes would not release our album with the original cover claiming that it was infringing on copyright laws so, if you want the original artwork, just go to our Facebook page, “Like” our page and, in the preview section hit the “buy” button on any of the tracks to get the download link.  There’s a link to our page at the end of this post.

REVIEWS

We’ve also been reviewed by Independent Ethos; A great source for critical news and reviews of music and film.  It’s a surprisingly (to us) in-depth and thoughful look at our history and approach to making our last two albums. Below is an excerpt from the review.

“Opening with the white noise of “The Town Meeting,” the album starts with a roar, like a long frozen moment of horror that is the shark attack. “The Expert,” arrives to bring some calm to the proceedings, as a whispering howl ever so slowly fades in for over a minute and then seems to blow and recede, as a soft metallic metronome beat keeps a rhythm for the ghostly sound that only seems to follow the pattern of the wind.  “July 4th” opens with a metallic quaver that sounds like it must come from an electric guitar, yet one cannot discern any plucking on it. The noise ebbs and flows for eight minutes to reveal a calm layer of whistling synth noise below the din, which quietly fades away over the course of a minute. Steve Reich would be proud.”
